I got this fabulous 70s set from the Estate of a woman to admire: Mrs Elizabeth Lawson.

Mrs Lawson grew up in Toledo, graduating from Libbey High School. She moved to Chicago to attend Illinois Institute of Technology where she received a BS degree in 1938. She lived in Chicago the rest of her life. She obtained a master’s degree from Chicago State University in 1961. She worked as a teacher and counselor for Chicago Public Schools (Wendell Phillips, DuSable, and Harlan High Schools) from 1947 to 1965 and later as a counselor at Chicago State University from 1965 until her retirement in 1979. Other memberships include: Chicago State University senator, Chicago State University Fifth Division, Illinois Association of Women Deans and Counselors, American Association of University Professors, National Association of Foreign Student Advisors. She received an honorary doctorate from the US Air Force. She served as consultant for the University of South Carolina Desegregation Center in 1968-69, and faculty advisor to students in the University Without Walls Program. Betty loved to travel and visited places all over the world.
She was a graduate of Chicago Teachers College and mother of one of Chicago land most promising physicians.
Born in Springfield, Missouri 104 years ago, Mrs Lawson’s dad was THE prominent Black Physisian in a racist town, that thrived on hatred. When Mrs Lawson was just a 4 year old child, her family was burned out of their mansion on a hot summer morning - by the KKK. That didn’t stop this prominent family, threw moved up North. Many of her children became sought after physicians. If you ever gave birth at Rush in Chicago, you will probably recognize the famous Lawson name.

So this outfit. Is not only super cool and trendy today but also irradiates this positive energy from ether women it belonged ( I truly believe in that).

It is unbranded , I guess hand made. Maybe by her because they told me she once was a seamstress in BONWIT TELLER so she knew how to sew! There is actually one beautiful coat that I am listing separately from BONWIT TELLER. I will list also 5 beautiful slips that look as new.
