Late 1970s–Early 1980s Penneys Adonna Corset – Hand Dyed Silver-Grey – 34D

This vintage corset from Penneys’ Adonna line (Style 7002) is a structured gem from the late ’70s to early ’80s. Originally crisp white, it’s been hand-dyed to a soft, silvery grey—an elegant, slightly variegated tone that gives it a modern edge with a hint of shimmer. I loved how the color turned out—cool, versatile, and totally one of a kind.

Tagged size 34D (please check measurements—vintage sizing can run smaller).

The original straps were missing, so I added grosgrain ribbon straps in a matching shade. They add a delicate finish but are easily removable if you prefer to wear it strapless—trust me, it looks incredibly cool either way.

With its flattering corset/girdle shape and supportive design, it’s perfect for layering. I’d style it with baggy jeans for a laid-back, edgy look, or pair it with a sheer blouse or high-waisted skirt for a more elevated vibe.

Armpit to Armpit: 14” stretches to 17”
Waist:13 1/2” stretches to15”
Hips: 16” stretches to 19” (8”from waist)
Total lenght from shoulder:  15 3/4” Front - 20 1/2” back 

For reference, the mannequin is a women’s size 2-4 USA with the following measurements:

• Chest:  33.86”

* Shoulder: 15”

• Waist: 26.7”

• Hips: 24”

I sell Vintage and Antique Clothing and I would say anything before 30s should be treated with care and worn with care. Mostly these items will be fragile especially 20s silk or Edwardian very fine Muslin.  Some can not handle stress and will tear easily. Should be bought a size bigger where possible or should be a little loose on.
