An authentic late 1920s to early 1930s bias cut satin nightgown, hand dyed into a soft lilac
This is a true period piece, not a reproduction. The elongated silhouette, shaped bust seams, delicate lace trim are all consistent with genuine late 1920s to early 1930s lingerie construction.
Cut on the bias, the satin drapes fluidly and skims the body, creating the long, elegant line associated with early Hollywood glamour. The skirt falls into a soft flare toward the hem, allowing graceful movement while maintaining a refined silhouette.
The fabric is satin, most likely rayon satin typical of the era, with a gentle sheen and beautiful drape.
The gown has been carefully hand dyed, producing subtle tonal variation that enhances the softness and depth of the lilac color. One small area of damage has been thoughtfully covered with a period appropriate lace appliqué to preserve wearability while respecting the integrity of the original garment.
The satin ribbon is included, allowing for authentic waist definition and completing the original design.
