A breathtaking Victorian–Edwardian cotton petticoat, circa 1895–1910, featuring a delicate pink and white striped pattern — a rare and romantic detail, as most petticoats of the era were pure white.
Made of fine cotton voile or lawn, light and soft to the touch, with woven pink stripes and tiny dotted designs throughout. The skirt flares gracefully toward the hem, finished with a double ruffle flounce that adds volume and movement. Originally worn as a decorative petticoat beneath sheer lawn or muslin dresses, this piece was meant to be seen — a symbol of subtle luxury and femininity at the turn of the century.
It closes with a small hook at the waistband and drapes beautifully, perfect for display or modern wear as a romantic skirt.
I restored one small pinhole with an a vintage appliqué, blending seamlessly with the original fabric. There’s also a very faint area of discoloration shown in the last photo — barely noticeable and entirely expected for an over-100-year-old piece.

• A marked XS piece may have medium-sized shoulders and hips but a tiny waist (corset-era sizing).
