An exceptionally romantic 1930s full-length nightgown in the palest powder blue.
The gown features a beautifully draped, cape-like bodice embroidered with delicate floral motifs. A soft blue velvet ribbon accents the center front, while slender attached ties define the waist and fasten at the back.
The deep V neckline, softly gathered construction and fluid floor-length skirt create the graceful, elongated silhouette associated with 1930s lingerie.
The fabric has the softness, lightness and fluid drape associated with silk; however, there is no surviving fabric label, so the exact fiber content cannot be guaranteed. It may be silk or a fine period rayon.
A particularly lovely example of 1930s boudoir dressing, suitable for a bridal trousseau, intimate wedding styling, collecting or wearing as an ethereal evening dress.
