1930s Pure Silk & Tulle Lingerie Dress with Butterfly Embroidery | Restored with Antique Appliqué
Ethereal and impossibly delicate, this late-1930s pure silk and tulle slip captures the romantic allure of the Art Deco era. The bodice and hem are adorned with exquisite embroidered butterflies — a motif that symbolized transformation and freedom, often featured in 1930s lingerie and gowns influenced by Parisian couture.
Crafted from whisper-soft blush silk and fine tulle, it features a scalloped silk neckline, sheer shoulder straps, and matching butterfly embroidery along the hem. The waist ties with a blush ribbon, creating an effortlessly feminine silhouette.
A single antique butterfly appliqué was lovingly added to cover a tiny flaw, blending seamlessly into the original design and adding its own layer of history.

• A marked XS piece may have medium-sized shoulders and hips but a tiny waist (corset-era sizing).
• Sleeves are often ¾ length, not full-length.
• Buttons may be mismatched due to age and previous repairs.
