Some antique garments are simply too beautiful to let disappear.
This extraordinary 1920s dress is crafted from delicate black net embroidered with intricate ivory floral motifs, finished with dramatic blush pink embroidered flowers and luxurious black velvet ribbon detailing around the dropped waist.
When I received this piece, it had significantly more damage than expected. Rather than letting such a rare dress fade away, I carefully restored it using matching antique lace motifs, thoughtfully placed to stabilize and preserve the original design while respecting its history. Every addition was made with the goal of allowing this remarkable garment to be worn and appreciated once again.
The result is an exceptionally romantic and highly wearable antique dress that still retains its breathtaking presence nearly a century later.
Please note that this is an authentic antique garment. Tiny pinholes and small signs of age remain throughout the delicate net, which is completely expected for a piece of this era. They do not detract from its beauty but are part of its authentic history.
This dress should be handled with great care and love. I recommend hand washing only if absolutely necessary, using cold water and a gentle detergent, and laying it flat to dry. As with any museum-quality antique textile, thoughtful handling will help preserve it for years to come.
