An exceptionally romantic 1930s boudoir dress in its original beige and white color combination.
The softly draped sheer beoge bodice appears to be crafted from delicate silk chiffon and is adorned with three original silk floral appliqués. The contrasting white silk satin skirt has a fluid, luminous finish and falls from a distinctive pointed waistline at the front, creating an elegant and flattering silhouette.
Designed with deep V-necklines at both the front and back, wide shoulders, open armholes, and a softly gathered waist. The original attached ties allow the waist to be adjusted and fasten in a graceful bow at the back.
The contrast between the sheer ivory chiffon bodice and lustrous white satin skirt is original to the garment.
There is no remaining maker’s or fiber-content label. Based on the texture, drape, and construction, the bodice appears to be silk chiffon with silk appliqués, and the skirt appears to be silk satin. The exact fiber composition cannot be guaranteed.
A beautiful and wearable example of 1930s lingerie design, ideal as a bridal boudoir dress, romantic slip dress, wedding getting-ready piece, or collectible antique garment.
Condition
Very good vintage condition for its age, with light signs of wear consistent with an authentic garment from the 1930s. Please examine all photographs closely, including the detailed images of the neckline, seams, armholes, and hem, as they form an important part of the condition description.
