A dreamy late 1930s to early 1940s bias-cut full slip, hand-dyed in the softest cloudy ice blue.
This romantic antique lingerie piece features an elaborate floral lace bodice with overlapping panels, delicate spaghetti straps, lace-trimmed sides, and a beautifully shaped hem finished with wide floral lace. The fluid satin body follows the figure beautifully, creating the unmistakable elegant silhouette of the era.
The slip has been individually hand-dyed, resulting in a soft, watercolor-like finish. The lace absorbed the dye more deeply than the satin, creating a lovely tonal contrast between the pale silvery-blue body and the richer blue lace.
There is no remaining fabric label. The material is a fluid, lustrous satin and could be rayon.
A pale ribbon is included and can be tied around the waist for a more defined silhouette or removed for the original fluid bias-cut shape.
Wear it as an intimate antique slip, style it as a romantic summer dress, or layer it under a sheer gown, robe, or oversized jacket.
Condition: Very good antique condition, with minor age-related wear. This piece was individually hand-dyed, creating soft tonal variations and scattered deeper blue accents throughout the satin. The delicate lace shows only light wear consistent with age. Please review all photographs carefully. Clean and ready to wear.
