What’s special about this vintage nightgown is the beautiful contrast between its two original fabrics. The bodice is made from a lightweight silky fabric in a soft peach blush tone, while the skirt is crafted from a slightly rosier satin, creating the illusion of two separate pieces while remaining a single, beautifully constructed gown.
To preserve this beautiful piece, I carefully added vintage floral appliqués to areas with minor imperfections and signs of age. The appliqués on both sleeves, the back neckline, and the front of the skirt were thoughtfully chosen not only to conceal those small flaws, but also to enhance the gown’s romantic character while blending naturally with its original design.
The original matching belt is still present, allowing the waist to be softly defined while preserving the gown’s original silhouette. The delicate lace bodice paired with the fluid satin skirt gives this piece an elegant Old Hollywood feel, making it perfect for bridal boudoir, a trousseau collection, a honeymoon getaway, or for anyone who appreciates exceptional vintage lingerie.
