A delicate and romantic Edwardian lingerie teddy, dating to approximately 1908–1915, crafted from sheer white cotton batiste.
This antique step-in combination features a beautifully hand-worked crochet lace neckline a charming detail typical of fine Edwardian undergarments.
The bodice falls softly into a gently shaped waist with pintuck detailing, creating a graceful silhouette that opens into the classic split-leg step-in design, trimmed with delicate lace at the hem.
As part of its careful revival, I added soft ribbon details that enhance the romantic character of the garment while remaining faithful to the spirit of Edwardian lingerie.
• A silk ribbon at the neckline highlights the lace and adds a subtle feminine accent.
• Light ribbon ties at the bloomers create gentle shaping and movement.
These additions allow the piece to be worn more easily today while preserving its antique beauty.
Originally worn as luxurious undergarments, garments like this now make stunning wearable antique dresses, perfect for modern romantic styling. I LOVE them for the beach.
Condition
Excellent antique condition.
No visible damage or restoration. The fabric remains beautifully delicate and well preserved for a garment over 100 years old.
The ribbon details were added during restoration to enhance wearability while respecting the original design.
