Welcome to Lulu Boop Vintage — a curated world of antique and vintage garments, thoughtfully preserved and reimagined to be worn again. Each piece is one of a kind, carrying its own past and ready to become part of yours.
Some garments arrive with a story already written.
This antique slip began its life as a white gown, lovingly worn and altered decades ago. At some point, a previous owner enlarged it by adding white synthetic panels beneath the arms so it would continue to fit her. Those additions became part of its history.
When I hand dyed the dress in this luminous chartreuse green, everything transformed—except those synthetic inserts. They remained almost white, revealing themselves immediately.
Rather than hiding them, I removed them.
Once they were gone, I discovered the original silhouette was beautifully authentic but far too small for today’s body. Instead of forcing the dress back into its original size, I chose a different path.
I left the sides open and finished them with delicate satin ribbon ties, creating a soft adjustable fit while celebrating the garment’s journey through time. The ribbons are modern by design. They are not trying to imitate the past—they represent the next chapter in this dress’s life.
The rich cocoa embroidered lace bodice contrasts beautifully with the vibrant silk, creating an unexpected combination that feels both antique and remarkably modern.
This is not simply a vintage slip.
It is a one-of-a-kind wearable piece, carefully reimagined while preserving the soul of the original garment.
Sometimes pieces deserve a beautiful new beginning.
Condition
Very good antique condition.
Very good antique condition. This antique silk shows gentle signs of age, as expected from a garment that has lived for decades. It has been individually hand dyed, so the color is intentionally organic rather than perfectly uniform. Slight tonal variations, soft shading, and the occasional irregularity are all part of the hand dyeing process and make each piece truly one of a kind. Rather than flaws, they are part of the character and story of the garment.
Fabric: Satin (believed to be silk satin ; no fiber label present)
