A beautifully romantic late 1930s to early 1940s slip dress in blush pink satin.
The bodice features delicate cream lace panels shaped beneath the bust, fine spaghetti straps, and a softly fitted silhouette that falls into a fluid midi-length skirt. The hem is finished with an exceptionally pretty sheer chiffon ruffle and rows of delicate insertion trim, giving the piece beautiful movement.
Wear it as a romantic slip dress with ballet flats or kitten heels, or style it more casually with an oversized blazer, cardigan, or worn-in denim jacket. For an edgier contrast, pair it with boots and a leather jacket. It also makes a beautiful bridal piece for getting ready, an intimate celebration, or a honeymoon.
The included ribbon sash can be tied at the waist for a more defined silhouette, or the slip can be worn loose for a softer, more fluid look.
There is no remaining maker’s or fabric label. The main fabric has the fluid sheen and drape often associated with period rayon satin, but its exact composition cannot be confirmed. The sheer hem ruffle appears to be chiffon.
