Measurements
This rare late 1930s evening gown is crafted from pure silk in a delicate peach hue with an elegant bias-cut silhouette that softly follows the body.
Its most striking feature is the beautifully constructed pleated bodice, where fine stitched pleats frame the neckline and extend into dramatic V-shaped panels on both the front and back. The softly gathered sleeves with matching pleated cuffs add volume while maintaining the refined elegance typical of the late 1930s.
To preserve this beautiful gown, I carefully restored areas of wear by adding delicate vintage-inspired floral appliqués. I chose a thoughtful restoration that celebrates the garment’s history while giving it a second life. Each flower was placed by hand to transform imperfections into intentional decorative details.
The silk has an exceptional drape and movement, making this a wonderful choice for collectors, special occasions, intimate weddings, elegant dinners, garden parties, or anyone who appreciates wearable textile history.
Overall excellent vintage condition with professional restoration. The floral appliqués have been intentionally added to cover areas of previous wear and are reflected in the price.
