A remarkable 1930s dress that has been thoughtfully rescued and transformed into a wearable work of art.
This piece arrived with extensive damage throughout the fabric. Rather than disguising its history, I chose to celebrate it. The dress was carefully hand dyed in a soft dusty brown tone and restored using antique lace fragments, individually hand tinted to blend with the garment.
The result is a one-of-a-kind piece that honors the life of the original dress while embracing the beauty of visible restoration.
The bodice features delicate embroidered details at the neckline, while the softly flared skirt retains lovely movement and drape. Because the original hem was too damaged to preserve, the dress was shortened and finished with vintage lace trim.
The fabric exhibits the fluid drape, soft sheen, and delicate hand associated with silk. Due to the age of the garment and the absence of content labels, the exact fiber composition cannot be guaranteed.
This is not a perfect vintage garment. It is a lovingly restored survivor whose repairs have become part of its character and story.

Condition
Good wearable antique condition.
This dress underwent a restoration due to significant age-related silk damage. Visible lace appliqué repairs remain throughout the garment and are shown in photographs. The hem was shortened and refinished with vintage lace trim. Please review all photos carefully, as the restorations are considered part of the design and character of the piece.
