Wear the rare. Choose quality. Live with history.

A beautiful pair of authentic Edwardian bloomers dating to the early 20th century, delicately handcrafted from fine lightweight cotton batiste and finished with romantic handmade lace details.

This antique garment features the traditional open split drawers construction typical of the Edwardian period, designed to be worn beneath the many layers of dresses and petticoats common at the time.

The bloomers are decorated with lovely hand crochet lace panels along the hem, creating a soft scalloped edge with floral motifs. Above the lace runs a charming line of hand embroidered cross stitches, a decorative reinforcement stitch frequently used in antique lingerie of the era.

At the front of the garment appears the embroidered name “Rosita.”

Rosita is the affectionate Spanish diminutive of the name Rosa, meaning “little rose.” Personal names were often embroidered onto undergarments in the early 1900s so garments could be easily identified when sent to communal laundries.

This piece was sourced in Argentina, where many European traditions and craftsmanship in lingerie and trousseau garments were preserved during the early twentieth century.

The waist features a drawstring tie, allowing for adjustable fit. A soft pink ribbon tie has been added at the leg opening as a romantic styling detail, subtly echoing the meaning of the name Rosita (“little rose”). The ribbon is removable if preferred.

Small areas of wear typical of a garment over a century old were carefully stabilized. A few tiny pinholes were discreetly covered with delicate lace appliqué, preserving the integrity of the fabric while blending naturally with the romantic character of the piece.

Despite its age, the cotton remains soft and structurally strong, and the bloomers remain beautifully wearable as a collectible antique garment.

Pieces like this were often part of a young woman’s bridal trousseau, handmade and embroidered with her name before marriage. Today they can be styled as romantic lounge shorts, paired with antique camisoles or corset covers, or preserved as a charming piece of early twentieth-century textile history.

A truly poetic heirloom from the Edwardian era.

All pieces are vintage or antique and may show gentle signs of age
