Beautiful late 1920s to early 1930s ivory chiffon gown, dating approximately to c. 1930.
Made from an exceptionally fine, sheer and fluid chiffon that appears to be silk, with tiny raised dot detailing throughout. The gown features a softly ruffled scoop neckline, short sleeves, a gathered waist and a long sweeping skirt finished with multiple tiers of delicate ruffles at the hem.
A small antique lace appliqué has been added by hand at the front.
I also added the narrow golden velvet ribbon at the waist, which can be worn tied at the front or back and is included with the gown. It is removable, allowing the piece to be worn either belted or in its original soft, flowing silhouette.
The overall effect is incredibly romantic and ethereal, with beautiful movement and a distinctly late-1920s/early-1930s feel.
The fabric appears to be silk chiffon or a very fine silk georgette; fiber content has not been laboratory tested.
Clean and ready to wear. As with all antique garments, minor signs of age and previous life may be present.
