Welcome to Lulu Boop Vintage — a curated world of antique and vintage garments, thoughtfully preserved and reimagined to be worn again. Each piece is one of a kind, carrying its own past and ready to become part of yours.
A rare and beautifully preserved late 1930s to early 1940s black silk slip, cut entirely on the bias for fluid movement and an elegant, body-skimming silhouette.
This refined piece features a softly draped surplice neckline with delicate scalloped edging accented by tiny cutwork eyelet details along the bodice border, adding subtle texture and femininity without excess ornamentation. Slender, non-adjustable spaghetti straps and a gently shaped underbust seam define the form while maintaining the relaxed elegance typical of the wartime period.
The silk drapes effortlessly, moving with the body in the way only true bias-cut garments can. Originally intended as a foundation garment or night slip, pieces like this were often worn alone at home or layered beneath dresses during the early 1940s. Today, it reads unmistakably modern — minimal, sensual, and quietly luxurious.
An exceptional example of Old Hollywood–era design, where craftsmanship and restraint spoke louder than embellishment.
Today, it reads unmistakably modern — minimal, sensual, and refined — equally suited to be worn as a dress, styled with a blazer, cardigan, or simply on its own.
