Some vintage pieces are worth saving simply because they still have so much beauty left in them.
This lovely peach satin slip caught my attention for its delicate embroidered floral bodice and elegant silhouette. Time had left a few worn areas on the fabric, so I restored it by carefully adding soft floral appliqués to the front, allowing it to continue telling its story while remaining beautiful to wear and display.
This piece works beautifully as luxury vintage lingerie, a bridal getting-ready slip, a romantic boudoir dress, or simply as a collectible garment for someone who appreciates restored vintage textiles.
Please note that, like many antique and vintage garments, it still shows signs of its long life. There are areas of discoloration and wear visible throughout the satin, all photographed in detail. They do not affect its wearability but remain part of its history, and have been reflected in the price.
Every garment I restore is meant to preserve as much of its original character as possible rather than erase its past.
The original fabric tag is missing. Based on the fabric’s appearance and drape, I believe it is satin, possibly rayon or an early synthetic blend. This is my best educated estimate, as the fiber content has not been tested.
