Antique Edwardian Bridal Lace Dress, c. 1909–1914
Fine Cotton Net & Lace Bridal / Trousseau Gown
A rare and beautifully preserved late Edwardian bridal lingerie dress, dating to circa 1909–1914, crafted in fine cotton net and lace. This ethereal gown exemplifies the elegance of the Edwardian era, when lightness, delicacy, and intricate handwork defined bridal and trousseau attire.
The dress features a high lace yoke, a softly raised empire waist, and three-quarter lace sleeves, creating a refined, elongated silhouette typical of the years just before World War I. Vertical lace insertions, delicate pintucking, and bands of embroidered net are arranged with exceptional balance, showcasing the level of craftsmanship associated with high-quality Edwardian dressmaking.
The skirt is finished with layered horizontal lace bands, plumetis (raised embroidered dots), and a wide floral lace border at the hem — details that are emblematic of luxury Edwardian lingerie dresses and increasingly rare today.
This piece would have been worn as a bridal dress for a daytime or civil ceremony, or as part of a bridal trousseau or honeymoon wardrobe, reflecting the intimate elegance of early 20th-century wedding customs.

Condition
Very good antique condition, especially for its age.
The cotton fabric remains evenly toned and stable. Any warm beige hue visible in photographs is due to the beige ribbon of the slip worn underneath, not discoloration of the dress itself.
There are a few pin holes in the slip dress they I covered with antique lace appliqués. I replace the ribbon of the slip for a silk one, the original was damaged. The lace remains strong and intact.
