Welcome to Lulu Boop Vintage — a curated world of antique and vintage garments, thoughtfully preserved and reimagined to be worn again. Each piece is one of a kind, carrying its own past and ready to become part of yours.
Some antique garments require hours, sometimes days, of careful restoration before they can be worn again. Many would consider pieces like this too fragile to save, but I cannot bring myself to throw them away. Instead, I patiently restore them, allowing these beautiful garments to return to life and continue their story.
This romantic antique boudoir gown dates from the late Edwardian to early 1920s period, circa 1915–1920. It is made from fine cotton batiste, a lightweight and delicate fabric widely used for high-quality lingerie garments of the era.
The bodice features soft gathers with charming hand embroidered blue floral motifs scattered throughout the front. The shoulders are framed by beautiful lace panels that add texture and elegance to the silhouette. The dress closes at the side with small original buttons, a typical construction detail of early twentieth century lingerie garments.
The delicate blue floral embroidery scattered across the bodice adds a charming touch often seen in early twentieth-century trousseau and boudoir garments.
During restoration several tiny pinholes on the bodice were carefully covered with small vintage appliqués, blending naturally with the embroidery and preserving the delicate structure of the fabric.
The result is a lovely boudoir piece that remains wearable and be appreciated as a collectible example of early twentieth century lingerie.
