Circa 1912–1918 Blush Pink Silk Chiffon Teddy with Antique Lace – Edwardian Boudoir Lingerie
An extraordinarily rare and evocative example of late Edwardian intimate wear, dating to the years just before and during World War I. This exquisite one-piece silk chiffon teddy represents the moment when traditional corseted undergarments began to soften into the earliest forms of modern lingerie.
Crafted from whisper-light blush pink silk chiffon, the garment features a delicate empire waistline, characteristic of the Edwardian period, allowing the fabric to float gently over the body. Horizontal bands of antique lace accent the bodice, while hand-applied oval lace medallions frame the bust—an exceptional and highly decorative detail rarely seen intact today.
The back reveals a beautifully tailored V-shaped lace construction, echoing the corsetry techniques of the era while maintaining softness and comfort. Wide, non-adjustable silk straps and a tiny silk ribbon tie at the neckline complete the design.
