Edwardian Embroidered Cotton Nightgown | Early 1900s Romance Meets Modern Ease
A dreamy piece from the early 1900s, this Edwardian cotton nightgown is a beautiful example of timeless craftsmanship. Made from soft, breathable white cotton, it features intricate floral embroidery and delicate cutwork across the chest with a lace-trimmed collar that adds just the right amount of old-world charm.
Originally meant for quiet evenings, this gown easily transitions into modern-day loungewear—or, with the right styling, the perfect spring dress.
✨ A note on condition: I’ve carefully covered one small pinhole on the back with a floral vintage lace appliqué that blends beautifully with the original fabric—adding both character and preservation. While the original belt is no longer with the piece, I’m including a satin ribbon in case you’d like to cinch the waist.
Details:
- Early 1900s Edwardian era
- Soft white cotton
- Floral embroidery & cut-out detail on chest
- Lace-trimmed collar
- Long sleeves with relaxed, airy fit
- Vintage lace appliqué at back
- Satin ribbon included (optional waist tie)
Styling Ideas (Daytime Chic):
- French Girl Spring: Cinch with the satin ribbon or a leather belt, add ballet flats and a straw bag for a soft, romantic look.
- Cottagecore Cool: Layer with a cropped cardigan, lace-up boots, and a sunhat for a pastoral fantasy.
- Minimalist City: Pair with sleek sandals, a structured tote, and oversized sunglasses for a crisp, clean vibe.
Soft, storied, and one of a kind—this piece is ready for its next chapter.

PLEASE CHECK MEASUREMENTS BEFORE PURCHASE!
Vintage and antique clothing often differ from modern standardized sizes. Many were handmade for an individual, so sizing can vary. Instead of relying on a labeled size, compare the given measurements to a garment that fits you well. If you have any questions about fit, feel free to ask—I’m happy to help!
Condition & Care
• Vintage and antique items have been previously loved, so small imperfections may exist.
• Hand-dyed pieces: Due to the nature of hand-dyeing, colors may not be perfectly even. Please wash these items delicately, preferably alone or with similar colors.
• Antique fabrics (pre-1930s): Delicate materials such as 1920s silk or Edwardian muslin require extra care. These fabrics can be fragile and should be worn loosely to prevent stress or tearing.
Things to Consider for Edwardian & Victorian Clothing:
• A marked XS piece may have medium-sized shoulders and hips but a tiny waist (corset-era sizing).
• Sleeves are often ¾ length, not full-length.
• Buttons may be mismatched due to age and previous repairs.
