Welcome to Lulu Boop Vintage — a curated world of antique and vintage garments, thoughtfully preserved and reimagined to be worn again. Each piece is one of a kind, carrying its own past and ready to become part of yours.
An exquisite early 20th century lingerie dress, dating from approximately 1915–1925, crafted in an ethereal sheer cotton voile delicately embroidered with a subtle all-over tonal scroll motif.
The silhouette reflects the transition from Edwardian refinement into the softer lines of the 1920s, with a gently raised waist, fine pintucked bodice, and a romantic layered apron overskirt finished with delicate lace edging. The textile itself is particularly special, featuring a continuous embroidered pattern throughout, giving the piece depth and quiet movement as it catches the light.
This piece has been thoughtfully restored by Lulu Boop Atelier. 4 small areas of wear have been artistically reinforced using vintage lace appliqués, carefully chosen to harmonize with the original garment and preserve its spirit while allowing it to be worn and appreciated today.
The waist measures approximately 22”, reflecting the exceptionally petite proportions of the era. While this is a very small size by modern standards, the open-front construction and fluid, sheer nature of the dress allow for more flexible styling. It can be worn slightly open, layered over a silk slip, or styled in a more relaxed, contemporary way.It could be open in the front to the bottom and worn a s a summer coat. I would put white ribbon on the waist to tie and would suit a bigger size.
Condition is very good for its age, with gentle patina and soft discoloration consistent with antique textiles, particularly at the waist and underarm areas. These do not detract from the beauty or wearability of the piece, but rather speak to its history and authenticity.
A rare and poetic garment, equally suited for a collector, stylist, or someone who understands the quiet luxury of antique textiles.
