Silk Bridal Nightgown - 1910

This Nightgown is SO EXQUISITE, amazing taste and quality. Delicate embroidery and lace on chest. End with a big ruffle.

Sourced in Buenos Aires, Argentina from the Estate of an amazing lady ( I cannot reveal her name but they called her Mamita (mummy in Spanish). I will be listing amazing nightgowns with the full “Mamita” embroidered on them. Last picture is actually Mamita, check how stylish she was! She lived between Buenos Aires and Paris and she bought most of her clothes in Paris. There are a STUNNING cape and skirt listed from the same estate and will be listing more nightgowns and stunning silk bed jackets.

This piece has the actual MASMITA embroidered on it!

Measurements: garment lying flat. Measurements are in inches. (Las medidas están en pulgadas 1Pulgada=2.54cm).
Armpit: 19”
Waist: 22”
Hips: 26”
Total Lenght from Shoulder: 55” Front- 57 1/2” Back

For your reference the mannequin is a women size Medium and it’s measurements are:

Bust: 88 cm / 34.64”
Waist: 66 cm / 25.98”

As you can see it was a bit big for the mannequin. It would definitely fit a Large.

The model is a size Small and her Measurements are:

Bust: 81.28 cm / 32
Waist: 68.58 cm / 27”
Hips: 88.9 cm / 35”
Hips: 90 cm / 35.43”

It was big for her.

PLEASE CHECK MEASUREMENTS BEFORE PURCHASE! Antique hand made items where handmade and differ to standard sizes. Please check the measurements closely for determining fit. I do not give sizes for vintage items as women's sizes are not standardized and a majority of these dresses were homemade or specialty made to fit one person. Also if vintage items are size tagged they usually run smalller comparing to the actual sizes. A good method to check is to measure a similar item that fits and compare.

Condition: It has a small tear on the left at the bodice so I covered it with a beautiful antique applique with pearls. I added one on the other side too just to balance the design. It has a tiny hole just in the centre of the flower in the upper centre and i covered this with a pearl. Gave a few stitches to some of the other petite flowers but hardly noticeable. This is truly an expression of antique quality, glamour and craftsmanship. I couldn’t throw it away for a few little holes. Please help to bring thos beauty back to life!

I sell Vintage and Antique Clothing and I would say anything before 30s should be treated with care and worn with care. Mostly these items will be fragile especially 20s silk or Edwardian very fine Muslin. Some can not handle stress and will tear easily. Should be bought a size bigger where possible or should be a little loose on. 

This is Vintage or antique, items will not look brand new modern clothing from the shops.
