A delicate antique silk lingerie piece, likely dating to the Edwardian era, crafted in soft ivory silk and adorned with exquisite floral embroidery.
This rare piece features a graceful tap pants / bloomer silhouette, with a softly gathered waist and fluid drape typical of early 20th century intimate garments. The embroidery is particularly beautiful—fine, intricate floral motifs that frame the front and sides with a refined, almost couture-like presence.
The silk has a luminous, buttery quality that moves beautifully with the light.
This piece has been thoughtfully restored to preserve its life and beauty:
- New elastic has been added at the waist for wearability
- Three antique lace appliqués have been hand-applied to cover areas of wear (two at the crotch, one at the waist side)
- Restoration has been done with care, respecting the character of the garment
Condition:
The appliqués both reinforce and artistically integrate previous wear. Overall, the piece presents beautifully and remains structurally wearable with care.
